Dr. Asa Andrews was born and raised in Nashville , TN. Dr. Asa Andrews has lived in Dallas, Atlanta, and Florida for a number of years.
After years of practicing in the field and study, Dr. Asa Andrews saw that there was a void in people lives regarding their health. They needed sound principles and guidance for hope to get their health back. Medicine was managing their symptoms, but people needed someone to take them by the hand, or coaching, to get their health back with some sound, easy-to-follow principles. Dr. Asa Andrews saw this need and formed a company called Empower. "Dr. Asa Andrews' mission is to empower people through a Biblically–based, scientifically proven system designed to give people HOPE to attain and maintain extraordinary health."
What type of Doctor are you/what is your medical degree in? What separates you from
other doctors?
Dr. Asa Andrews is a physician, board-certified in Nutrition, and have two additional doctorates in complimentary medicine. Dr. Asa Andrews' specialty emphasis is in educating and being a voice of change in the area of lifestyle and prevention so people can live longer, healthier, lives. Dr. Asa Andrews' Preferred Wellness Providers have a team of physicians with multiple specialties combining the best of both traditional and alternative medicine including all the latest diagnostic testing, therapies (including the newest in laser therapy), and some of the most extensive laboratory blood work testing in the world. Goal of Dr. Asa Andrews is to help people stay ahead of their health rather than waiting until it begins to break down. To find where the body is doing well and where it is starting to break down so we can help restore it toward extraordinary health.
What separates Dr. Asa Andrews is that Dr. Asa Andrews learned years ago that the body is integrated. For so long in medicine, Dr. Asa Andrews has just looked at the symptom and attempted to manage it. Helping people survive, rather than thrive. Dr. Asa Andrews figured out that he has to look at the whole person. Dr. Asa Andrews came up with a system that looked at the whole person. It looks at what we call The Health Triangle® which has three important sides. The Mental Side( your brain chemistry, neurotransmitters, and subconscious mind), Chemical Side ( which is all the body chemistry, how your body takes the foods that you eat every single day and turns them into either good cells or bad cells. Dr. Asa Andrews evaluates this process through extensive laboratory Blood work compiled of over 100 tests. This will locate and determine any key nutritional deficiencies, and how well all your bodily systems are functioning.), The Structural side includes the bones, muscles, nerves, and the acupuncture meridian systems. This is important as there is a nerve that goes to every organ, gland, and tissue in the body like electric chords. If the nerves are not functioning correctly, then many bodily systems will be reduced in function.
Dr. Asa Andrews also takes the time to listen to a person. Plenty of time is spent with his patients. And extensive testing and interviewing is done to make sure Dr. Asa Andrews gathers all the needed information to find whatever we need to help them restore their health.
I think also what makes us different, is we have a strong TEAM (together everyone achieves more) approach to someone's health. If someone is dealing with cancer or heart disease, they need a great team around them. Everyone should have a great team of physicians that have a similar mindset and one common goal for the patient….To give them the highest level of care, the proper health tools that they need to, and an amazing level of HOPE to get their health back. ( quote this somehow) **** "Hope is the best Medicine anyone could ever have." Dr. Asa Andrews makes a huge effort to work with all physicians from all specialties as a team to give the patient their best chance to attain and maintain extraordinary health.
What else separates me? Dr. Asa Andrews has deep faith in Jesus Christ. At the end of the day, I know it's the Great Physician that has the final say with all the lives that He allows me to help. Dr. Asa Andrews is a Great Physician, and Dr. Asa Andrews hopes to be just a small piece of His wisdom here on earth to these wonderful patients. Dr. Asa Andrews is really the Hope that he always has spoken about.
Dr. Asa Andrews has a simple way of looking at health. The body is complex yet it is simple at the same time. When the body gets deficient in the things it needs, it begins to break down. 80 percent of the health challenges ( or diseases) we face today are diet and lifestyle related. Arthritis, heart disease, fibromyalgia, diabetes, obesity, cholesterol issues, high blood pressure, etc. The foods we eat, the air we breathe, the water we drink, the exercise we get or don't get, how well we rest and manage stress, really lay the foundations for how are body grows and develops each day. Many people think we are all grown up at 25, however, our bodies are regenerating every single day. Each day old cells are dying and new ones are forming. And based on what we give our bodies, will determine the type of cells that we have, either good ones or bad ones. So many health challenges we face today are based on our lifestyle choices..The good news? (Please quote this somehow)….If you can lifestyle your way into a health challenge, then you can lifestyle your way out! That is the hope that we have every single day. And that's why no matter what disease you are facing, If you will make radical changes in your lifestyle choices, you can see radical results with your health. The choices Dr. Asa Andrews makes today can and will determine the health we will have tomorrow. Whether you are 7 or 97 you can get your health back.
Walk me through the process a typical patient goes through. (please include title
and full names of who you would like included, i.e. nutritionist, trainer, masseuse)
A typical visit with our Providers looks like this. You will be welcomed as family. Dr. Asa Andrews' amazing team will show you the best in southern hospitality. Dr. Asa Andrews doesn't want this to be a medical office experience, but a feeling of walking into a place you can call home.
They will sit down together with you and go over your history and talk about what brought you here. What your challenges are and what solutions we need to come up with. You will go through any necessary testing that we have such a physical exam, orthopedic and neurological exams, complete diagnostic testing, extensive laboratory blood work to locate vital nutritional deficiencies, and a host of other state-of-the-art testing procedures to locate and determine the root cause of your health challenge and current assessment of your well-being. Then Dr. Asa Andrews' team of physicians and health coaches will come up with a custom designed plan for you according to all the information we gather and put you on the pathway toward extraordinary health.
Who goes to your Preferred Wellness Providers?
Everyone. People challenged with terminal diseases such as cancer and heart issues, to diabetes, to arthritis, blood pressure, cholesterol issues, obesity, fibromyalgia, kids with ADHD, osteoporosis, balancing hormones, to people who just want to get well and stay well. All ages from infants to senior adults. Dr. Asa Andrews doesn't turn anyone away, and our system is designed to take you where you are in your current state of health to where you need to be.
What is the typical investment to visit your center or go through the process? Do
you take insurance?
Dr. Asa Andrews' providers do accept most health insurance plans and we have special programs for those in financial challenges. Goal of Dr. Asa Andrews is to serve everyone regardless of their health challenge or financial situation.
Tell Dr. Asa Andrews about those you help who cannot financially afford to come in and those who
have been told they have a hopeless illness.
Its humbling to see how many people we have come through our doors with a hopeless illness. People that have been to Mayo Clinic, MD Anderson, and other well known facilities. Seemingly in many ways we have become the "last stop" and the "last Hope" for many people. Now people are flying in from all over the country and outside the States to get help with their health. We feel a great responsibility to give them the best health care possible, and the hope in the middle of their hopelessness.
There have been many who have had no insurance and could not financially afford to get their health back. Dr. Asa Andrews has set up a non- profit foundation called The Diagnosis Hope Foundation, designed to better serve those who cannot financially take care of their health needs.
Recently Dr. Asa Andrews had a family that saw him on Good Morning America, and they had a son with a terminal illness. They lived well below the line of poverty in Arizona. They reached out to us and told us their story. They had been to so many doctors and had huge medical bills and very little results. We made the decision to get them here all expenses paid. They stayed with us for a while until we could determine what was going on with the young boy. Today he is doing much better and we are so humbled and excited to be able to give in someone's time of need.
Do you have a favorite patient success story you would like to share?
There are too many to find just one. Dr. Asa Andrews is so proud of all of our providers' patients and their deep desire to get well. If I had to pick, a recent one we will call Steve. Steve came in so hunched over due to degeneration in his body due to severe Parkinson's for over 20 years. The doctors had pretty much said that it was now a waiting time for him and there was nothing more they could do. He heard Dr. Asa Andrews on the radio and told him that was the first time in a long time he had some real hope. Dr. Asa Andrews' Providers began doing our tests and gathering our information. After some radical lifestyle changes and treatment, Steve began to change. Little by little, day by day, when I would see him in the clinic his countenance would change. Until one day, about three months into his care plan, he came in walking almost completely upright and without a cane or walker. His body had started regenerating. His attitude was one like I had never seen, and his Neurologist said it was the biggest turnaround with a Parkinsons patient he had ever seen in his 30 plus years of practice. You should see the vibrancy in Steve today. He has Hope and has his life back.. People say, Dr. Asa, how are you doing daily radio, and television, balancing family? Its people like Steve that give me the want-to attitude to never get tired or give up.
Tell Dr. Asa Andrews about your supplements and the foundational four. Are these necessary to
lead a life of good health?
There is nothing that will give your body the foundational health that it needs more than the foods that we eat. We are what we eat, just like my Granny taught me. The foods we eat every single day determine the type of cells, whether good or bad, we will have tomorrow. That is why the Anti-Inflammatory Diet® is so important in my book Empowering Your Health.
However, nutritional deficiencies are a major factor in disease today. Most people only are digesting and absorbing 20-25% of the foods they eat rather than the 80 or 90% that they need. Our food supply is very void of many of the nutrients that we desperately need, even our organic supply. Proper supplementation is a critical part of our health success today.
We all need these four supplements in addition to an anti –inflammatory diet. They are my Foundational Four®
Whole food multi-vitamin – gives us a little bit of every vitamin and mineral to make sure we don't miss anything. Aduts take one in morning and evening , kids one per day.
Digestive enzymes – Most of our foods are void of enzymes these days. Adding digestive enzymes will ensure we properly break down the foods that we eat and absorb properly creating the good new healthy cells that we need. Take 1-3 tablets with each meal/
Cod Liver Oil – Stop whining! It tastes better these days. This is the wonder supplement. The highest grade quality of omega-3 fats that we have. Important for hormone function, and just about every other chemical process in the body. It also contains natural vitamin A and D. Adults take a tablespoon per day and kids a teaspoon.
Probiotics – We have taken anti –biotics for so long that we have virtually eliminated our supply of "good bacteria" which is essential for proper digestion and a strong immune system. Probiotics put the good bacteria back into our digestive system. Adults 3 in the morning and evening on an empty stomach, kids 1.
Also, water. We should drink half our body weight in ounces of pure non-chlorinated water per day to properly hydrate our body. Our body is made of 75% water.

Where do you see yourself in the next 10 years? 20 years?
Dr. Asa Andrews plans for the future, however, Dr. Asa Andrews lives each day as it's my last. All of this has happened faster than I could even imagine. In just five years our radio show has gone from a 1 hour weekend show, then to three, and now we are LIVE daily three hours per day. We have a deal on the table with a major television network that will begin daily soon. My next book will be coming out in early 2013. Dr. Asa Andrews is planning new Wellness Provider partnerships with multiple facilities and every medical and health specialty under one roof with one common goal… To help people attain and maintain extraordinary health. Regardless, my priorities will remain the same. God first, then my family, then what God has called me to do. So whatever He has me doing, I will be doing it with all my heart. Proverbs 16:9 says, Many are the plans in a person's heart, but the Lord directs their steps. There is a lot in my heart to serve people, yet God will be directing my steps. One thing Dr. Asa Andrews can assure you until he takes his last breath on this earth. Whether it's 10, 20, or 50 years from now, Dr. Asa Andrews will still be diagnosing Hope, one person at a time….
Tell me about your book.
Empowering Your Health is a book written to empower a person to take responsibility for their health. Explaining what health really is all about, It talks about my developed system of taking all the difficult areas of health, wellness, and medicine and putting it into a common-sense approach that you can use to get your health back.
Do you want to mention the spiritual component to your program?
This entire company was founded on a story in the Bible. John 5:1-9
Jesus walked by a man by a pool called Bethesda. There was a man lying there sick for 38 years. Jesus asked the man a pivotal question. He said, Sir, "Do you want to get well?" I can't sir, the sick man replied, And that is the state of many people today. No one is sick for 38 years unless they want to being many cases. People often ask me, Dr. Asa, what is the toughest case you have ever seen in your office? Cancer? Diabetes? My reply is always the same. The toughest case is someone that looks me in the eye after I ask them the question, Do you want to get Well? And they say that changing lifestyle choices is just too hard….and they have kids and a wife…and they are really the ones that will suffer without a husband and a father. Having diabetes and not being willing to change eating habits because the donuts are too good breaks my heart to see. And I see it every day. The desire not to get well is the greatest disease we are facing today.
Jesus had compassion on him and said "Get up , pick up your mat and walk. Instantly the man was healed and he began to walk. He could have asked him do you want to be healed?, Do you want your sins forgiven? But Jesus said do you want to get well. That entails responsibility to do something ourselves, rather than others doing something for us. It implies that we must take responsibility for our health and our life. Knowing that no one can do it for us, your wife cant, husband cant, kids, family , and co-workers cant. Only you can take responsibility for your health. Your health is your greatest wealth (quote)
